The wide tyred, fibreglass clad “big bangers” provide spectacular wheel to wheel action

SPRINTCARS

The combo of a high powered V8 engine and a huge wing ensure they are
the fastest vehicles on four wheels around NZ speedway tracks

YOUTH MINISTOCKS

The entry class for speedway with drivers being 12-16 years, they are mini stockcars though no contact is permitted

STREETSTOCKS

Based on a strengthened roadcar, they are the only speedway division where racing occurs in both directions around a track (although not at the same time)

PRODUCTIONS

Another excellent entry-level class, a wide variety of makes and models are competitive in the category, both front wheel and rear wheel drive, so there is something for everyone here

STOCKCARS

Built for crash and bash action, this class is the most popular for the fans

MODIFIEDS

A fibre glass body and massive wing gives stunning action when these drivers throw their cars around the track

At Eastern States we believe speedway gives our young (and young at heart) members an outlet for their energy and competitive nature. It satisfies their needs for speed, but in a safe environment; while providing good family entertainment; and as such, is a valuable and necessary element of our community.
